British Airways, American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic and Delta all fly between New York JFK and London Heathrow (LHR), according to their own pages and releases, and Delta's page lists the route as nonstop. In August 2025, British Airways said its JFK flights would operate only from Heathrow. In August 2026, American said its fourth daily JFK to Heathrow flight starts on 28 March 2027, and that with British Airways it will offer up to 14 flights a day between New York City and London.
Our own business class fare search, run on 20 October 2026 for 4 December 2026 departures, returned only one-stop itineraries: Icelandair from 10 hours 15 minutes and Turkish Airlines from 22 hours 40 minutes. None of the nonstop airlines appeared, so a Business Class Deal advisor checks what is available to book on the nonstops for your dates.
From Newark (EWR), United and British Airways have both flown to Heathrow. In 2019, United said all five of its daily Newark to London Heathrow flights used Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with 46 Polaris business seats and 22 Premium Plus seats. In 2022, British Airways added a third daily Newark to Heathrow flight on a Boeing 777-200 with Club Suite. A June 2026 United release describes a Newark to London flight on a Boeing 777-200 without naming the London airport.
Those releases describe past schedules, so an advisor confirms the current Newark flights. United's 2018 release placed its Newark Polaris lounge in Terminal C, between gates C102 and C120.
In August 2025, British Airways said its newest Heathrow to New York flight uses a Boeing 777-200 with First and Club Suite, so First was on at least one BA JFK flight in its summer 2026 schedule; an advisor checks whether your flight has First. BA First is a private suite that turns into a 198 cm flat bed. Club Suite, its business seat on selected flights, has a door, direct aisle access and a 198 cm flat bed, while some aircraft keep the older Club World seat.
Virgin Atlantic's cabins are Upper Class, Premium and Economy, with no First. American has brought its Flagship Suite business seat to Heathrow flights from JFK, and says it stops selling Flagship First on its Boeing 777-300ER for travel from 19 November 2026. American has not said which aircraft flies JFK to Heathrow. We could not confirm Delta's aircraft or cabins on this route, so an advisor checks the cabin on your exact flight.
At JFK, British Airways and American use Terminal 8, and Virgin Atlantic and Delta use Terminal 4. American runs three premium lounges at JFK jointly with British Airways, and BA's First page names the Chelsea lounge in Terminal 8.
In Terminal 4, the Delta One Lounge between Concourses A and B admits same-day Delta One passengers and same-day Virgin Atlantic Upper Class passengers.
At Heathrow, American, Virgin Atlantic and Delta use Terminal 3, United uses Terminal 2, and British Airways uses Terminal 3 and Terminal 5, its main Heathrow hub. American also offers an arrivals lounge at Heathrow for qualifying premium customers.
US citizens need a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before they fly. It costs 20 pounds and allows stays of up to 6 months, and you also need one if you pass through UK border control to connect onward.
Business Class products differ widely by aircraft. Ask our advisors which seat type operates your specific flight before you commit.
A Business Class ticket from New York normally includes lounge access before departure and, on many carriers, an arrivals lounge in London. Ask which lounges apply to your booking.
Premium fares vary in how changes and refunds are handled. Our advisors will walk you through the exact conditions of the fare you are considering.
Priority check-in and security cut queue time, but arriving a little earlier lets you make use of the lounge rather than rushing to the gate.
Observed in our latest fare search. Each page covers the cabin, seat and lounge.
